It is only known that the number of digital printing presses on the market is increasing, and their production efficiency is expanding. Therefore, the amount of paper used is increasing at the same time. As for the calculation of the amount of paper used in digital printing, it is difficult because many digital printers still use traditional printing paper on their digital printing presses, and even most digital printing presses use paper for paper. It has some special performance requirements, but the familiar offset printing paper is still widely used.

There is no printing method between the two. The basic requirements of printed matter on paper are nothing more than: weight, thickness, brightness, opacity and smoothness, etc. In these aspects, digital printing is no exception. However, sometimes special digital printing presses also put forward some specific requirements for paper. For example, digital printers, copiers or desktop printers that use electrostatic printing principles are the most common. For various printing equipment, paper is required to have good dimensional stability, low flexibility and low wrinkle under the environment of changing temperature and humidity. At the same time, it also requires proper abrasion resistance, surface conductivity, sufficient stiffness, and less paper lint or dust during the printing process.

In addition, the paper must pay attention to the quality of printing. Since the principle of electrostatic printing is used for printing and the ink is replaced by pigments, the electrical properties of the paper, such as resistivity, dielectric constant, etc., should be controlled at an appropriate level. It must also be kept in mind: the moisture content of the paper has a great influence on the performance of the paper, but also on the printing performance.

The quality of printed matter printed by the electrostatic printing principle depends on mastering the correct machine parameters to achieve, but the uniformity of the paper is also very important: the distribution of fibers or fillers in the paper must be uniform, and the smoothness of the surface is to the color The quality of material migration is also critical, especially for scales where the paper surface is in close contact with the color material. After the pigment reaches the paper surface, it is mostly fixed by hot pressing. Therefore, the smoothness of the paper surface, surface chemical properties and heat treatment properties must also be mastered at an appropriate level. There should be requirements for the stiffness of the low-gram-weight coated paper to prevent it from flexing on the hot press roll.

The environmental humidity changes suffered by paper during transportation, handling and storage have a great influence on the digital printing quality of electrostatic printing principle. Therefore, relevant warehouses and printing workshops should be controlled by air conditioning.

Digital printing using inkjet technology is very different from digital printing using electrostatic principles. Because 50%-90% of the inkjet is solvent-based, and the colorant is filled with pigmented solid polymer particles. The liquid properties of the ink used in inkjet technology have requirements for the surface absorptivity and absorption capacity of the paper, including: after the ink droplets are sprayed on the paper surface, the pigment should stay on the paper surface without diffusing, so it is required to control the absorption of the solvent Therefore, inkjet digital printers have relatively large requirements for the surface properties, pore structure, chemical composition and mechanical properties of paper, and not all inkjet printers or inkjet materials are the same.

Paper suitable for inkjet digital printers must also overcome wrinkles, be non-deflection, and have stable dimensions. Its surface abrasion resistance and electrostatic effects should also be controlled within the ideal range to ensure good printing performance.

In short, although most of the usual offset printing papers are used in many digital printing presses, there are still certain requirements for paper under certain specific conditions for digital printing presses with special structures or technologies. . It can be said that previously, no paper can adapt to all digital printing presses, this should be paid attention to.
